The weather today was as different as the babies were one year ago. Today it was a sunny 75 degrees; the babies were born on a freezing, windy snow day. One year ago, Reid weighed 5′ 3oz and Will 6′ 9oz. They were both in the NICU on oxygen. They were struggling to nurse and couldn’t hold up their own heads. (their birth story here)
Today, one year later, the picture is totally different! They are both 19lbs, crawling everywhere, expert nursers, eating table food, and healthy as can be.
It’s probably fair to say that this has been the most challenging year of our lives. We were more sleep deprived and busy than we’ve ever been before. But once again, we were blessed by all the family and friends that rallied around us, and we were reminded of the strength of our marriage and family. The house is messy, and a lot fell through the cracks, but we have 4 happy healthy boys, and we couldn’t ask for more than that!
Thanks to everyone who helped us survive our first year with twins, we couldn’t have done it alone! I am bursting with pride as I say,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WILL AND REID!! We did it!
