I took the boys to 225 (a little coffee shop with a great play area downtown) to kill some time in between MOPs and the twin’s 6 month dr. appointment. Since the play area is in the basement with no elevator, I carried the babies instead of taking the stroller.
We looked like this: I had one baby strapped to my front in the carrier, one baby tucked under my right arm, and was holding Adrian’s hand with my left hand while Stephen ran on ahead. As soon as we ascended the stairs outside the building, an open-mouthed woman said, “WOW, if those are all yours, then WOW. Kudos.”
I basically sighed, “Yes, they’re all mine!”
As soon as we walked in, all eyes turned to me. Immediately, there were hushed whispers behind hands as curious eyes studied us. I have never silenced a room before…I walked up to order some coffee as everyone stared at us. I ordered coffee, handed over my credit card, and signed the receipt all while holding onto 2 babies and supervising a potty break for the big boys.
Then we retreated to the basement to play! I think I’ll just take the stroller next time…
